Spring Program Update!

We’re off to a wonderful start for 2016! Here are a few things that we’re excited about this Spring.

This season’s Club focus is Healthy Lifestyles – with all programs incorporating additional nutrition education and physical fitness activities into regular daily programming.

Our Rock Creek Extension site kicked off a twelve-week Triple Play program, with Club members participating in two training games before challenging each other in a final event highlighting a specific athletic skill such as running or arm strength.

Teen Center members participated in Date SMART activities that focused on building mutual respect, and relationships that are free from violence and abuse.

Members at our Mullin & McAdams Clubhouse site participated in SMART Girls & Passport to Manhood; both being programs specifically crafted to youth ages 8-18 and involving activities that focus on healthy relationships, healthy lifestyles and positive self-expression.

The Clay Tech program at our E.V. Cain Extension site is off to a phenomenal start! Club members are learning how to create a story board, design sets and characters using clay and other mediums, and how to successfully photograph and edit a clay-mation movie. It is a lesson in patience and perseverance for Club members, and their hard work is paying off! We look forward to seeing the completed projects!
